Before and After your Abhyanga session

Abhyanga preparation

Before your session:

- It's ideal to avoid eating at least an hour prior.

- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit of oil residue on. (I use hot towels to wipe excess oil. Any oil residue on clothes comes out in the wash).

- You may want to carry a hat/ scarf for your hair, for after the session.Oil is massaged into the scalp and hair.




After your session:

- Ideally avoid prolonged exposure to cold or windy weather or direct sun ( e.g. avoid walking a long distance/ biking) when you leave from your session.

- Plan to take a shower& dry your hair when you return home.

- Do not keep the oil on overnight or go to bed with wet hair.

- Avoid fridge cold or frozen cold foods/ drink.


Abhyanga Contraindications

- Avoid Abhyanga in case of severe indigestion or constipation.

- Avoid Abhyanga on the days of your menstrual period.
